Research

My research is in the area of animal ecology and evolution, studying mammals and other small vertebrates.  My particular interest is in the evolution of life histories and mating systems of animals, and also their population biology and breeding.   I combine two broad approaches in my research: using field-based techniques to study natural populations, and employing molecular techniques to provide genetic information on those natural populations.

Project

An opportunity exists in 2007 for a field based honours project on the endangered red-tailed phascogale, as part of a collaboration between Murdoch and outside groups.  Interested students are encouraged to contact me to discuss this and other possible projects.
